Down Gearing

In Conscious Living, Terminology on September 27, 2009 at 4:17 pm

IMG_8991Do you feel that things are hazy, your energy is low and that it’s hard to get enthusiastic? Do you feel as though you have slowed down?

Noticing the need to slow down, down-size or down gear is usually a sign that you have become aware that what you are currently doing is heading toward disaster. So quite naturally, when we do notice that what we are doing is no good for us, we ‘put the brakes’ on our plans. And look at what we are doing  in an effort to regain a handle on the situation.

Despite the need to sometimes slow down in our lives, we generally do very badly at it! Read the rest of this entry »

Essence of the Times – October 2009

Puya Species – Collapse, Caving In. ( Under research, soon to be released )

+ Dropping your illusions. Letting go of baseless ideas, beliefs and other nonsense which are not grounded in reality. Letting go of the illusions which cause you to fall down. Dropping those things in your life that do nothing to support you. Able to naturally support yourself.

Carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Illusions about your life that cause you to bend, buckle and falter. On the verge of toppling over because of the strain you are under. Dropping the ball. Falling down because you cannot hold up your illusions anymore. Feeling as though your whole has come crashing down around you. Buried beneath a pile of illusions, what if’s and fears.

October 2009 is a lesson in Support! Read the rest of this entry »

Sitting with the Problem

In Conscious Living on September 21, 2009 at 8:32 pm

Being told to ‘sit with your problem’ is probably the last thing you want to do – especially if pain were involved. Being told to ‘be with’ your problems when they arise is also probably the last response you would have when working out how to deal with the issues of your life.

But, ‘being’ is exactly the message behind the new Skyflowers being brought through at this time. Although only 2 of the 16 new flowers have been publically released, the message is consistent throughout the entire new series – “being with the experience… is the solution and way forward”. In Conscious Living, Responses to Peoples Letters on September 16, 2009 at 7:00 pm

Dear D,

Tonights flower class is on the subject of Intention – for uncertainty and self doubt.

The lesson is this… we like to ‘place our order’ with life and set down clear ( solid ) intentions for ourselves in the hope of warding off fear and self doubt. I.e. If we are clear, then we know, when we know then things will be safe to move forward. So we think, think, think our way forward in the dark.

Little do we realize that LIFE ITSELF has an intention for all of us – the intention that we unfold, mature and become what we are in potential. Read the rest of this entry »

Balancing Your Health

In Conscious Living on September 16, 2009 at 9:38 am

There is a prevalent mindset out there in the natural therapy field that one must balance one’s health. That health is a product – a result brought about by using products, methods, modalities, crystals, herbs, etc – in the right quantity and at the right time. In other words, one must ‘make health happen’.

The desire to experience good health is a given. We all want that. But is health the product of labour… or a natural occurrence? Read the rest of this entry »

The Stigma of Mental Illness

In Conscious Living on September 14, 2009 at 6:46 pm

It’s an interesting situation. The word ‘illness’ I mean. We are comfortable with applying it to physical ill health. Although we begrudgingly go through the symptoms of coughs, colds, flu’s and more series illnesses, we are okay with describing ourselves as ill when we are not at our best.

Things are different when it comes to mental illness – or illnesses of the mind. Mental illness takes on a stigma, a barb and has a permanent sting attached to it. A branding. A tattoo. Read the rest of this entry »

Essence of the Times for September 2009

Flower_HumilityHumility – Pride, False Bravado. Neoregelia pauciflora

+ Human. Acknowledging your limitations. Viewing your humanity as the guideline for spirituality.

Overworked, overburdened and overcomitted. Living beyond your limits. Diluting your true power because you try to uphold superhuman values.

September 2009 is a lesson in Humility!

The challenge of September is to reduce the amount of straining in your life and to pin-point where you are over-commiting your energies. It will be difficult not to fall into your habitual trap of loading everything on your shoulders and expecting a peak performance – but if you do manage to postpone your endless laboring for a moment, the reasons why things are so hard will soon come to light.

Don’t overstretch yourself this month and pay careful attention to exactly where you are spending most of your time… and on what you are paying the most attention to.

The Sharpest Thorn of All

In Conscious Living, Flower Essence Therapy on September 5, 2009 at 1:27 pm

Two questions have been on my mind recently… ‘Why don’t people heal, change or move on from their issues despite working hard on them?’ and ‘What makes an unhealthy emotional pattern resistant to change’? Read the rest of this entry »

The Degree of Personal Suffering

In Conscious Living on September 5, 2009 at 12:22 pm

Recently my research focus has been on the correlation between self absorption and personal pain. What I mean by this is that when we have a sharp focus of mental energy directed toward ourselves – when we have ourselves ‘clearly in sight’ – our experience of personal pain is magnified. Conversely, when we are more focussed on the life going on around us or on other people, our experience of pain is greatly lessened; defused because of the lesser focus on ourselves.

Have you ever noticed this? When your problems seem insurmountable and you are at the height of mental, emotional or even phsycial suffering, your mind is self directed, self focused and ‘it’s all about you’? Have you ever noticed too that when you have been at your lowest point mentally and emotionally, that you are by yourself? Alone-with-your-suffering?

The formula is quite simple! Your degree of self focus + negative mental energy = degree of personal suffering.
