Where Do You Source Your Energy?

In Essence of the Times, Study Group on April 2, 2009 at 6:29 pm

Let me start by asking you a question… where do you get your energy from – the energy you use to create your day with? Where do you source your energy – yourself? On what energy source do your creative projects rely? We can so easy fall into the trap of answering that our energy comes from ‘myself’ – the ‘energy i have’ – but this is not the entirely true.

The flower of Inspiration tells us that we source our energy from a deeper place than that of ourselves. In truth, our energy comes from the moment we experience. This moment of life that provides us with life energy, energy that is from beyond ourselves but is ours to spend. And direct.

So, how are you spending this moment? This moment of energy?

A common problem we experience as human beings is ‘not having enough energy’ ( and it’s mirror, ‘not having enough money’ ) to create our dream lives with. This shortfall of energy comes from faulty thinking and if we were to ‘plug in a little deeper’, we would find that we would have more energy – and better health as a result.

It’s a common mistake. We attribute our energy – ‘the energy that I now have’ – to ourselves. Or rather to how we feel energetically. This is flawed thinking and problematic for this would then mean that our energy, our creative fire is based upon how we feel at the time. With fluctuating moods to navigate and emotions to deal with, this is not so firm a basis to build a life upon!

But we do! Or at least, try to.

By isolating life energy in this way, we pinch off the greater reservoir that flows up and through us, giving us life and an ability to shape our lives with. For the most part, our thinking is self-directed, imploded and self-ish. Not expressive, out-pouring or self-less. Much of our thought – and energy, for that matter – is directed toward acquiring energy. Not spending it. Our thinking is based around a theme. The theme of  ‘our need for energy, our need for resources with which to live’.

But this, is faulty logic, for the moment is providing you with the energy with which to live. To animate your cells, brain, body, heart, blood, lungs… life! If you dig a little deeper and excavate the truth that lay beyond your thinking, you will see that we have the energy. We have the resources. We have a stable platform to design our lives atop of.

In the greater scheme, you have the energy. The only question is, how are you putting that energy to use? To where is your thinking leading you? To what end have you given your energy to?

  4. I’d never thought about energy as originating from an outside source, although we probably all know this, even if we don’t think of energy in this way. Our energy comes from food & water, sunlight & all the other elements of the universe. If we take in plenty of these elements, my guess is we already have the energy within us. I guess the real question is, how do we tap into that energy???

I think a good start could be to feel gratitude for the powers of the universe by understanding how they relate to everything we focus on in life, weather it’s the footy, growing plants or swinging a net @ butterflies. For ex: Imagine you’re playing footy. The ref. blows his whistle @ half time & hands out pieces of orange. You’re grateful for this because you’re tired & in need of energy & hydration, both of which is provided by the orange. You go back to playing & after kicking the winning goal, you carry around in your mind gratitude for all the universal processes that help you live & enjoy your life, including the energy you obtained from the orange. You realize that orange came from a tree which produced male & female flowers. An insect sipped life giving energy from one of the male flowers. Pollen stuck to the insects’ legs & thus when it went to sip from a female flower, the flower became fertilized, allowing the formation of your orange. But the story doesn’t end there…or rather begin there: Factors essential for the growth of the orange tree like sunlight & where it comes from, the fertilizer & the animals that produce it, & so on & so on, are all part of the story, which eventually goes right back to the start of time.

I think we all know this but it’s surprising to me how many people act as though they’re separate from the laws of the universe & therefore become out of sink with the life force which we are all a part of. Ultimately, we abuse our bodies with bad diets, bad situations, bad tempers & so on, all of which are abuses of energy or life force & therefore largely unavailable to us in positive ways. No wonder so many of us get so warn out.

    So what are your thoughts?

    • Yes, inseparability is the key. Many of our human problems arise because of our faulty view of ourselves as ’separate, individuals’. As soon as we say “I did this…” or “I feel that…” we are referring to a self that is pinched off from the whole, isolated out and divided from the greater context.

By habitually doing so, our thinking changes about weho we are. And we think we are left to our own devices. Therefore, things like health, happiness, security and even finance are up to us! These things must come from ourselves, our own efforts… for what are we without them? Based on this “i-solated self”,nature is replaced with adversity, need and craving. These supports ‘must’ be created by ourselves rather than being shared with us from a larger grid work that we belong to… that of, life itself.
